Hangzhou Metro's station guide identifies Wulin Square as a Line 1 and Line 3 interchange in central Hangzhou. It places Wulin's commercial streets south of the station and Wulin Road to the west, with the canal and West Lake Cultural Square on the northern side.

Binjiang / Jiangling Road
Hangzhou's January 2021 Binjiang guide identifies Jiangling Road as a Line 1 and Line 6 interchange. It describes Star Avenue on the Qiantang River bank with food businesses and a bookshop. This anchors a riverbank commercial area on the Binjiang side; individual business availability needs a fresh check.

An ordinary week in Hangzhou
Wulin and Binjiang: two versions of a week
Explore Wulin Road and the canal-side direction from Wulin Square, then compare a Binjiang riverbank walk around the published Star Avenue area. Decide which places you want close often and which can remain an occasional outing.
Choose a base around your journeys.
Wulin Square is a Lines 1/3 anchor; Jiangling Road is a Lines 1/6 anchor in the cited guides. Compare the correct station entrance and any cross-river journey from your actual address.
Where to stay: serviced apartments first
Start with a serviced apartment for your first longer stay in Hangzhou. Look for a furnished space with the kitchen, laundry and managed services you need, and confirm what the exact room and rate include. Consider a regular rental when your neighborhood and longer-term plans are settled.
Under one month
Use a serviced apartment or regular short rental to compare Wulin and Binjiang before settling on a longer base.
One to three months
Compare both housing types on the same side of the river and against the same daily destination; a West Lake visit need not determine the whole lease.

Hangzhou's municipal portal places the International Visitor Service Centre at the international arrivals exit in airport Terminal 4. Its July 2025 opening report lists currency exchange, overseas card ATM withdrawals, mobile payment setup, SIM activation and immigration consultation. Ask about your card's support and the SIM's validity and renewal before relying on either for a long stay.
